I love to eat salty foods. I love to put salt rather than pepper in my soup. Unfortunately, salt retain water in the body and one might feel bloated. But, salt is not fattening. Salt has no calories. And, only those food with calories can make you fat. However, since salt retain water in the body then one can't help but feel fatter.
So, I learned that when I want to eat salty food. I must drink lots of water to flush the salt out of my system. If not, then one will feel bloated and fatter.
Although, salt itself is not fattening because it has no calories. But eating to much salty food can cause one to be fat. Because, aside from the fact that salt retain water in the body that leads to "water weight". High Salt intake stimulates appetite and makes one tired so one eat more, causes high blood pressure which makes one stressed out.
